The hotel had beautiful views of the mountains and the breakfast was deliciously diverse. The staff were kind and welcoming, always willing to lend a hand.
The rooms were not soundproof enough and at times it was a bit noisy. the rooms could use some updating.

The Peacock Bar is simply beautiful. The staff was so friendly at the hotel that I will only stay at Sonnenbichl on my return stays to Garmisch.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, with a modern walk-in shower. The beds were firm but very comfortable. The view from our balcony was stunning, overlooking the beautiful mountains. The hotel had a great selection of breakfast items and catered to a diverse range of international guests. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Didn't dislike anything about the property.

I was delighted to find this hotel located in a serene area, not far from the Olympic ski hill and with easy access to the forest. the hotel rooms were spacious and well equipped, offering fantastic views towards the mountains. the service provided by the hotel personnel was friendly and helpful. the breakfast offered a great variety of options, and the hotel's wellness area, including a swimming pool, sauna, and fitness center.
The limited options for lunch and dinner were a downside, as mentioned in one of the reviews.

Grand old hotel. A good place to use as a base for exploring Bavaria. Easily accessible to major roads. Free Wi Fi.
Nothing, really. Except don't expect an older hotel to have A/C

The breathtaking view from the breakfast area was truly exceptional. the delicious breakfast spread also added to a great start to the day. the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms gave a luxurious feel. the amenities like the sauna and pool were an added bonus and provided a relaxing escape during the stay.
The internet service was disappointing, with frequent drops in signal and the need to constantly reconnect. the lack of air conditioning and a limited number of pillows made the room slightly uncomfortable.

The hotel is in a great location and remains a beautiful older site.
I have stayed at the hotel numerous times since 1984 and have some very pleasent memories, however the hotel management has changed most everything we liked about the hotel. The Bar did not open until 9PM in the evening so there was no place to sit and have a pleasant snack or libation. With the exception of the nice young ladies on staff, the other staff members were indifferent to any request and seemed to not like their job. The resurant was large and the atmosphere was not pleasing as it was before. The management has lost the charman of this hotel-- will not stay there again and would not recommend it for a friend.

The staff were friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations on things to see and do. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the amenities like the mini-bar and flat-screen TV added to the overall comfort of the stay. The pool and sauna area were absolutely stunning, and I loved relaxing there after a long day of exploring.
